16. San Diego – Easter Fun

The KOA campground was such a gem of a find. They had daily activities planned for kids & families, & leading up to Easter they went all-out!

It began on Thursday afternoon with some family Bingo. Sofina won a few times! Saturday was jam-packed with games like kickball & wiffleball, and Gaga ball the remainder of the time (the kids wouldn’t let us watch their games, & we were happy to give them the freedom to run around the campground, make new friends, and enjoy the mentorship of the staff who organized & played all the games with the kids! On Friday, the KOA had games, a DJ, cotton candy, train rides, and a flashlight lollipop hunt in the dark.

The kids rode the train every day. I see why!

I love that the kids still enjoy doing this kind of stuff!

This was so much fun!

Saturday started bright & early with pancakes, courtesy of Sofina. We all rushed to the big field for the Easter Egg hunt. We completely forgot something to collect the eggs IN, but Sofina quickly solved that problem!

So many kids & families turned out for this!

The rest of the day was filled with a family kickball game (the kids let TJ & me play!), a picnic watching a concert in the grass, face-painting (Chase chose a joke from one of his favorite comedians, Kevin James), and a nap in the sun (my hat did a great job blocking-out the sun… except for the hole in the back where you adjust it – I got a cute little rectangular burn on my forehead). We ended the day with a dip in the hot tub.
