On our way to Moab, TJ mentioned that we should weigh our rig sometime soon. I looked up CAT Scale locations, and one popped up at the next exit on the freeway, in the town of Green River. TJ pulled onto the 3-pad scale following the directions online. We weighed just under 25,000 lbs total (truck & rig). We laughed that we added another first on an already hectic day, including moving camp and closing on a duplex in Ohio!
We made it to Moab & were excited that our campground was only 5 minutes from the Arches National Park entrance. We were even more excited when we realized that the campground was surrounded by beautiful red mountains & lined with trees!

The next day we went to Arches – not to hike but just to talk to a ranger & wander around the Visitor Center. These centers are mini-museums, full of information. We watched a short documentary about Arches, how it formed, & how it’s changing. I bought another book, even though our adventures & constantly-changing locations make it difficult to find time to read these books.
We headed into downtown Moab for a day of hopping in & out of shops, ate the best Thai food we’ve ever had, & then headed home for a dip in the hot tub. That night, the hot tub was filled with people from all over, sharing stories & laughing, & the kids had the best time listening to it all.
